“The silent cry of a child”

“I wish you could see me now: The Last Birthday Wish”.

It’s my birthday, I am five now and daddy said I was beginning to be a big girl now. I lost my first tooth today. Daddy said the tooth fairy will come and see me tonight. Mommy made me a cake, with five big big candles because I was a big girl now. Mommy said makes a wish and your wish will come true if you blow real hard and blow all the candles out. I blew really really hard and blew them all out. “Yeah!” I clapped with a big smile on my face. Because I knew my wish would come true.

Night time came and I put my tooth under my pillow. Excited that the tooth fairy was coming to see me, I heard footsteps coming to my room, but it wasn’t the tooth fairy it was daddy. He sat at the side of my bed and said, “You’re a big girl now”. He started touching me, and I would cry “daddy no”, He would put his hand over my mouth so mommy couldn’t hear.

He was hurting me really really bad. My body went limp, and I stopped crying. My tooth still under my pillow. But my birthday wish came true, God came and seen me for my fifth birthday. He said you’re my big girl now, I won’t hurt you, I won’t make you cry. I guess birthday wishes do come true. I am a big girl now, I got my wings, and a new tooth too. I wish you could see me now.
